Yeast infection is one common infection experienced both by men and women. But the most frequent cases occur in women called vaginal yeast infection. Infants and adults may also suffer from yeast infections in the form of oral candidiasis. Also called thrush, a common symptom of this type of infection is a white, thick, and lacy patches found on top of the tongue or any parts of the mouth. Most of these patches look like curds of milk. It is dangerous to wipe the patches away, especially when you use a cotton-tipped applicator or blade because the underlying tissue is at risk of bleeding. This type of infection also makes your tongue look red minus the white coating. And since thrush is extremely painful and can give you a hard time when eating, it is important that you make sure the infection is treated properly and does not get dehydrated.
